Welcome to our blog post for the 2024 publicity campaign . Together with graphic designer Lukas Bähr, we were able to design a three-part poster series for our association this fall. We asked ourselves: What does the association actually do? Under the well-known motto "The conglomerate has many faces", we were able to define three areas. Workshop | supporter | mouthpiece. You can read what these areas actually mean under the respective section. Coupled with a few voices from the association, you will get a first impression of how diverse the Konglomerat e.V. can be. As always, you can find further information on the history, events or our open workshops under the appropriate tab or in the calendar of events.
The association is part of the Association of open workshops and, with the #Rosenwerk, has a huge "playing field" for private individuals, collectives and companies who can let off steam with different materials and tools. These spaces are called work areas, such as the wood, metal, sewing and screen printing workshops, material mediation or the photo and film development workshop. You can find a complete overview under the "Work areas" tab.
The association thus offers low-threshold access to professional tools and workshops, some of which are organized collectively and independently and can be used by members for both charitable and commercial purposes.

"My name is Richard, and my playground is the metal workshop.
My favorite project in recent years is a melting furnace that I use to cast brass and aluminum. I'm currently trying to use it to make injection molds for the plastics forge.
How does this actually work in your workshop?
"The metal workshop is run by the WerkstadtPirat:innen. They offer opening hours where anyone and everyone is welcome, e.g. to repair bicycles and the like. The conglomerate also uses the hall to repair machines for the other work areas, for example, or even to build new ones!"
...a concluding sentence?
"The conglomerate is a wild jungle of people, machines and possibilities - colorful, loud and not always completely transparent, but all the more lively for it."
Many people know our core and the basis of our association life. However, Konglomerat e.V. is not only physically anchored in the #Rosenwerk, but also offers projects, initiatives and collectives the opportunity to find a new home at Konglomerat. Keyword: co-productive urban development and socio-cultural engagement. The association can take on a kind of group membership or project sponsorship for a wide variety of projects in the Dresden urban area. Together with the Cotta neighborhood, we are currently developing the Neue Volkshaus Cotta into a new third place in the west of Dresden. A neighborhood and cultural center is being created here, which is being collectively built and co-designed from the bottom up. You can find this and other projects under the tab/drop-down menu "Projects".

#nadannmachdoch was the motto in Dresden in 2019, when the association organized the "Spatial Conference and Action Days Future Protection Area Urban Space". The underlying vision of the "co-productive city", for which the association aims to be a point of contact and source of inspiration, is a good example of engagement in urban development policy discourse.
By experimenting together on a small scale and making visible the need for space for civil society and the cult scene on a large scale, the association wants to act as a mouthpiece for all those initiatives that often get the short end of the stick. The aim is to initiate urban development from "below" and to form a lobby that wants to get involved in the urban space in a quick-witted and practical way. We are convinced that discourse, planning and design processes in our cities must be tackled together with the people.
You can find more information about the spatial conference at stadtraum.jetzt .
Information on the co-productive city can be found in the free online edition(issue 03/2024) of the Federal Association for Housing and Urban Development (vhw)
