The New People's House in Cotta was nominated for the German Neighborhood Award 2022 from among several hundred entries. The prize was established by the nebenan.de foundation to honor neighborhood involvement. Our project is thus one of a total of 94 projects nominated throughout Germany.
The nomination shows that we are on the right track with our commitment and are demonstrably making an important contribution to our neighborhood. We are proud of this!
With this nomination, we now have the chance to win one of the 16 state awards or even one of the five theme awards in the categories Generations, Culture & Sports, Sustainability, Public Space and Diversity.

What happens next?
At the beginning of September, independent juries of experts will select the 16 state winners and 5 theme winners, who will each receive prize money of 2,000 and 5,000 euros respectively. On October 5, the 16 state winners of the German Neighborhood Award will be announced on the website. The five winning projects in the theme categories will be announced at a festive awards ceremony on November 17, 2022.
